Updated News from Simple & Frugal

Check out our site Simple & Frugal (www.simpleandfrugal.com) in the following months as we are completely re-vamping and expanding the site to include more interactivity, more information, more articles, and more resources. The launch of the new and improved site is scheduled for mid-January 2006.

If you have any suggestions or input on how we can improve the site to better serve you, please email us.

And for those of you looking for more information on simple and frugal living, visit a great website I recently came across after reading the book by Tim Covell called Rational Simplicity. The site address is www.rationalsimplicity.com/ introduction.html .

Tim's book lays out in the simplist way how people can simplify without feeling like they are going without. His suggestions allow you to have more time to achieve your goals and find happiness. The suggestions are simple and include:

Separate wants from needs;
Think of money as time;
Break the advertising chain;
Avoid consumer debt;
Know your net worth;
Understand the magic of compound interest;
Set goals;
Choose a path to simplicity,
and Pursue your dream.

In only 100 pages, the book which can be easily read in a matter of a few hours, contains the nuts and bolts of starting a simplier life. I recommend it for its simplicity and uncluttered style in conveying information in a quick and concise manner.

In the coming months on this blog I will be posting pictures and updates on my adventure in homesteading 13 acres I just purchased in Northeast KY and how my move from the city and relocation to the country is going. I'll let you know what pitfalls and triumphs I have in trying to create an environmentally friendly house and anything interesting that happens along the way.

Unitl next time...

Best Regards,

Jona E. Kessans
